Ulster Women’s Cup Finals This Sunday

In one of many occasions to mark Carrickfergus RFC’s 150th anniversary, the Ulster Women’s Cup Finals will be played at Tom Simms Memorial Park this Sunday (22nd February):

ULSTER PLATE FINAL
City of Derry v Cavan

ULSTER SHIELD FINAL
Carrickfergus v Enniskillen
12:30pm, pitch 2

ROSIE STEWART CUP FINAL
Cooke v Queen’s University
2:30pm, pitch 1

Bill Crymble, President of Carrickfergus RFC, said:
“We are proud to be hosting the Ulster Women’s Rugby Cup Finals at Tom Simms Memorial Park. It should be an exciting day and it reflects the importance and value that we as a club place on ladies rugby. These finals are the first of a number of IRFU and Ulster Branch events which we are delighted to be hosting as part of our 150th Anniversary celebrations.

Sabrina Higgins, captain of Carrickfergus Women, said:
“We are very excited to be hosting the Women’s Cup Finals at Carrick, especially as it’s our 150th Anniversary year. It will be a great showcase of ladies rugby and a wonderful addition to our celebrations.”

These cup finals are the first of a number of IRFU and Ulster Branch events which the club will be hosting as part of the celebrations.

On Sunday 29th March the club will host the Ulster Women’s Rugby Development Shield and Cup finals and on Saturday 2nd May 2015, the club will welcome the men’s Ulster v Munster Junior inter-provincial teams. That game will take place at 5.00pm, following the conclusion of the day’s Sevens competitions.
