Grim Reapers alive and kicking

Posted On: Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Carrickfergus 4th XV, the Grim Reapers, brought the Butler Shield back to Carrick last season but narrowly lost out on the league title. They have begun this season full of intent to rectify and last Saturday’s game against East Antrim rivals Larne was no exception. The Reapers travelled down to the Glynn and beat Larne 3s 7-51 with 52 year old Gaz Allen putting in a sterling performance. The average age of the team was worked out by the Hawk to be 38!

Other results
The 2nd XV beat Ballynahinch 3s by 20 points to 5.
The 3rd XV were beaten 12-31 by Limavady 2s.

Last Sunday the Ladies XV played their first league game against Lisburn and came away with a landslide victory of 60-0. Try scorers were Lydine (3); Megan (1); Aimee (2); Hilary (2); Christi-Ann (1) and Pauline (1).

Please note that the Ladies fixtures up to Christmas are now on the website.
